Hasbro has also released a small number of G.I. Joe comics. These comics were packaged exclusively with the toys.

The first time Hasbro published G.I. Joe comics was back in 1993. They were in mini-comic form and were included in select action figures. Only four of these were ever published and are now very hard to find. The stories are written by G.I. Joe legend Larry Hama with Paul Kirchner. What is known about these comics stories is that they were never specifically stated to take place within the greater A Real American Hero comics continuity but nothing about them contradicts that same continuity either.[1]

Hasbro mini-comics:
Desert Dustup | Hijacked Heroes | Jungle Fury | Mountain Trouble

In 2008, Hasbro released a third series of their Comic Packs with a new twist. Several of the Comic Packs featured new comics stories by Larry Hama. Each of the comics consists of 22 pages and they work in and around the Marvel Comics stories.[2]

Previously, to easily keep track of their place in the Marvel continuity, the comics are given a particular number from the Marvel series with a ½ sign to indicate where they specifically fall. After #36½, the previous numbering system was dropped and the next issues were labeled in numerical order beginning from #4. However, several comics in this series have stories that makes them questionable where and whether they even fall in the original comics continuity.

Hasbro Comic Pack books:
#21 ½ | #32 ½ | #36 ½ | #4 | #5 | #6 | #7 | #8 | #9 | #10 | #11 | #12
