Action Force #16 was released on 14th June 1987.

Original material

Cold Comfort Part Three

Wild Bill and Flint are in the lead of three Dragonfly helicopters flying to China. Wild Bill reminds Flint that even if Action Force weren't grounded[1] this is an invasion. But Flint decides to head on. He remembers how Michael Anke's wife came to them after Quick Kick disappeared but Trent was furious to discover that Quick Kick had disobeyed orders and not for the first time.[2] Trent also resisted Flint's plans to take a rescue mission to China but the latter threatened to resign so got an unofficial acceptance.

Quick Kick has been pegged out in the show to die of exposure. He recalls how he acted rashly in coming to the Himalayas where he got shot at[3] then it and finally discovered that his old friend Michael Anke, the man he was searching for, is the leader of the Two-Headed Serpent, a Cobra splinter group.[4] He has only one chance of escape and for half an hour he rubs one of his bonds against a rock until it snaps, freeing his arm.

In the monastery base of the Two-Headed Serpent Michael Anke has been informed of approaching aircraft and orders all ground and air units into action. A Tele-Viper informs him the aircraft are coming in sight and Anke is shocked at who theyare.

Quick Kick has now freed himself but is very weak. Slowly he staggers back to the monastery to discover a battle. He gains new strength at the prospect of Action Force rescuing him but suddenly he sees the attackers are not Action Force but Cobra!
