The Skystrikers speed towards London to destroy Megatron who is fighting Grimlock amongst gasometers. Wild Bill screams that the action is murder, killing Grimlock. Flint orders him and Scarlett to evacuate. Wild Bill turns to Centurion and berates him for just standing and watching and asks if he will let his leader go to his death, before asking Blades to help him rescue Grimlock. But Flint restrains him, pointing out that if they pull Grimlock out now Megatron will leave the gas and the strike won't destroy him. Suddenly Centurion tells Blades he has a suggestion.
Megatron is about to finish off Grimlock when suddenly Centurion jumps on him. Blades drags Grimlock clear whilst Centurion and Grimlock fight. Up above the Skystrikers approach the target. Blades tells Wild Bill that Centurion's plan doesn't involve escaping. Centurion smiles as the missiles hit and there is a colossal explosion. Megatron and Centurion's bodies fall into the Thames. Flint confirms nothing could have survived the explosion.
Later Blades tells Flint and Wild Bill that it wasn't just friendship that made Centurion take Grimlock's place. Wheeljack had called him an "ancient relic" whose repairs prevented him treating injured Autobots. Centurion wanted to make amends and give life to others by taking out Megatron in an ancient relic's last blaze of glory. Flint responds that Centurion wasn't an ancient relic but an "old soldier... and, as such, I salute him."
