The Broadcast Energy Transmitter was a white, tank-like device designed to provide a solution to the planet's energy needs. When deployed, it sends out a EMP-like field out to anything that is electrically powered, such as the robotic weapons platforms used by GI-Joe and other vehicles, in this case, to energize them, not destroy them. Somehow, Cobra-La got news of the device and sent Pythona to Serpentor with orders to capture the device. When GI-Joe placed it in a secure area, the Baroness betrayed its location to COBRA forces and Cobra-La forces, which, against heavy resistance, captured the device and proceeded to use it to activate spores designed to turn humanity into animal life. During the counter-attack on Cobra-La, Lt. Falcon, who had earlier "went bad"(He was a womanizer and that got him in serious trouble), somehow overloaded the device, which burned up the spores and then detonated like a nuclear bomb(A HUGE mushroom cloud is visible over Cobra-La) and destroyed not only the device, it also destroyed Cobra-La as well as the "Joes" fled the area.
