Cross-Country is a G.I. Joe character from the A Real American Hero series.

Cross-Country's parents were both blue-collar workers who operated heavy machinery in the mountains of Appalachia. From there, he developed a natural affinity for driving big machines and finding the best safest routes to keep tracked vehicles from getting stuck in mud pits and sinkholes. Cross-Country might be rough around the edges but you can count on him to keep his head on level during a firefight. Just make sure you don't mistake him for a hillbilly, he's a redneck and proud of it.

Trivia

  • Cross-Country's prototype filecard indicates his real name is "Arlen W. Slaughter," and his vehicle was called the "Rhino" instead of the H.A.V.O.C. This is reflected in The G.I. Joe Order of Battle #1 comic.
