Several characters in the history of G.I. Joe are doctors:
G.I. Joe Team[]
- Doc (Carl Greer) - the pacifist medic in the early years of the A Real American Hero series.
- Doc (Carla Greer) - the previous character's niece.
- Dr. Link Talbot the zoologist who joined the Joes in during Valor vs. Venom.
Other characters, such as Lifeline and Stretcher, are medically trained, as well.
Cobra[]
- Dr. Venom - Cobra's original mad scientist in the A Real American Hero comics continuity.
- Dr. Mindbender - the bald scientist with the mustache and the monocle in the A Real American Hero series. Also known as "Dr. Brainwave."
- Dr. Knox - the female Cobra scientist who took over when Mindbender was unavailable.
- The Doctor - the mysterious operative from 2009's Rise of Cobra.
Cobra's main surgeon is Scalpel, and he led a corps of Medi-Vipers.
