The F.A.N.G. is a Cobra vehicle from the A Real American Hero continuity.
Cobra banner

The F.A.N.G. is an early example of Cobra air power. Far from having the power and armor of a true gunship, the F.A.N.G. makes up for those deficiencies with speed and stealth. Its size makes it hard to be spotted and it more than easily is able to sneak in to a neighborhood undetected. The gyrocopter has a maximum weight of 890 lbs, with a speed of 175 mph and a maximum range of 320 miles.

FANG

The F.A.N.G. from the ck take off capabilities of the FANGs enable.

The small size and quick take off capabilities of the FANGs enabled Cobra to ambush the Joes in New England. Still, they proved wholly insufficient when the Joes have better flying and combat skills.[1] When the Joes invaded the Cobra Temple, Destro piloted a FANG to evade capture.[2]

Toys[]

Toy editions[]

The Fang was issued as a toy in 1983. The toy was basic, with no "action features". The toy had a nose mounted machine gun that featured a fairly unique ball mount, 4 rockets, and a bomb, both of which were removable. The figure sat in the open cockpit.

Fang was later offered as a mail in order. It has recently been re-issued.

Like many early G.I. Joe toys from this series, the red and white colors on the decals were prone to scratch off.

Re-uses/re-makes[]

There are a couple different versions of the Cobra F.A.N.G. - including the helicopter in the Sears-exclusive Dreadnok Air Assault set. When the 25th Anniversary toys came out, Hasbro made the F.A.N.G. a little bigger to hold the larger figures, then used that mold and made an Official G.I. Joe Collectors' Club exclusive Adventure Team helicopter.
