Cold Comfort Part One[]
Quick Kick has stolen a Snow Cat and come to Communist China in order to find his friend, Michael Anke. They were close long ago, when they worked as stuntmen in Hollywood, but time moved on; Quick Kick found Action Force and Michael found fanaticism. Michael had disappeared a while ago and his wife hired a private investigator, who tracked him to an abandoned monastery in the Himalayas. When the investigator turned up dead, Micahel's wife turned to Quick Kick for assistance. Michael seemed to have fallen in with a cult called "The Two-Headed Serpent", dedicated to overthrowing the US government. Quick Kick wonders what he's gotten into.
Suddenly the Snow Cat is attacked by two F.A.N.G.s, piloted by Snow Serpents. Quick Kick uses the weapons to destroy one, but the other destroys the vehicle. Thrown into the snow, Quick Kick produces a grenade and destroys the second one. Then he hears a Ferret coming, driven by another Snow Serpent. Quick Kick boots the driver off and then uses the vehicle to get as far as possible, before a steep climb up the mountain. He is concerned, as he thought the Two-Headed Serpent was an ineffective force, but they are using very familiar equipment. As he reaches the monastery his fears are confirmed—the Two-Headed Serpent is a Cobra!
