- Scrap-Iron is a Cobra character from the A Real American Hero series.
For a man who loves to blow things up, Scrap-Iron's need for perfection borders on the obsessive-compulsive. What he seeks is the perfect weapon that would destroy enemy vehicles in the way that he wants it to. He is extremely methodical and precise. This obsession of his has been the cause for a number of heated arguments with his comrades but nothing may deter him from his objective. As a developer of anti-tank weapons, he has specialized in remote-launched, laser guided weapons technology. It is often rumored that he was a products designer for Destro's company before he moved to Cobra.

Scrap-Iron became a Cobra operative in the last days of Springfield. He often worked with Firefly, first patrolling the town when it was infiltrated by the Soft Master. Together with Buzzer they pursued the Soft Master as he fled the town. The Soft Master's car managed to cross a railway line just before a long train pulled through, but Scrap-Iron climbed a telegraph pole to see the Soft Master had stopped to help another car that had crashed. He fired a missile which killed the Soft Master then, on the order of Firefly, fired a second one which hit the car. Although he did not know it, Scrap-Iron had killed Candy Appel, the daughter of a key Cobra agent, and seriously injured Billy, the son of Cobra Commander.[1]
Scrap-Iron and Firefly were subsequently guarding the creation of a new super soldier in Springfield when the town was attacked by the G.I. Joe Team. The new super soldier was born and took the name Serpentor, and volunteered to lead the Cobra forces in holding the line whilst an evacuation was undertaken. Scrap-Iron and Firefly were tasked with accompanying Serpentor, with orders to kill him if necessary.[2]

- Scrap-Iron's preliminary filecard explicitly stated that he began as a weapons designer at M.A.R.S. Industries who worked his way up to being a field representative and product demonstrator.
