Snow Serpents are Cobra's cold weather environment specialists. They have a reputation for being formidable fighters in sub-zero temperature conditions. However, all that meanness didn't come out of nowhere. They are a branch from the ranks of the Eels. As such, they have undergone the same extreme aquatic training and, in addition to that, they are trained to be well versed or familiar in every possible type of infantry operation in an extreme environment such as the Arctic. From marching 50 miles with full gear to anti-tank tactics to airborne operations, they have to be able to do it all.

Snow Serpents were deployed on Cobra operations including:

  • An attack on a derelict base in the Norwegian Arctic Circle. One Snow Serpent was thrown into an ice hole, but Footloose saved him as it was Christmas.[1]
  • An attack on a secret research base in the North American forests, led by a defecting military scientist called Chattle. They were disposed of by Snake Eyes & Timber, and by a treacherous Chattle himself.[2]
  • An attack on the Action Force Apogee Base in Greenland as part of Destro's plan to capture the plans for Project Omega, an advanced stealth-equipped cruise missile, whose inventor's plane had crashed in the Arctic.[3]

A splinter organisation from Cobra called "the Two-Headed Serpent" also had Snow Serpents at their base in the Himalayas.[4]
