G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor is the title of a Nintendo Entertainment System video game published by Capcom and developed by KID corp. Released in 1992, it was the sequel to the first G.I. Joe-based Nintendo Entertainment System video game that had been published by Taxen a year earlier.
In the game, Cobra Commander has harnessed the mysterious powers of Atlantis in an effort to take over the world and only G.I. Joe can stop him. The basic side-scrolling, platforming based gameplay mechanics are similar to the first G.I. JOE video game, with some added Bionic Commnado-type elements to it.
