G.I. Joe's "cost per mission" is too high, so they're sent to training to learn how to fight more cost effectively. Meanwhile, Cobra has found a grove of "Demon trees" that explode as soon as anything touches them... for free.

Notes[]

Animation and Technical Errors[]

  • When Dusty is fighting the giant scorpion, Sandstorm's nose looks very wrong.
  • Through the whole episode, other than when he's shown in profile, Sandstorm is very poorly drawn.
  • Zarana's lips don't move when she says "I really do fancy you, Big Ben, all you have to do is resign from G.I Joe and we could have some great times together."
  • A moment later, Big Ben's lips move (after Dusty speaks), but there's no spoken dialogue.

Continuity Errors[]

Quotes[]

"You idiot!"
--Destro to a for once innocent Metal-Head, after Dusty's pet coyote Sandstorms tackles Metal-Head, causing his missiles to set off the Demon tree sap.

GeneralConfusion

"Avoid being KISSed."

"Then G.I. Joe will be at my mercy! ...the one quality I have never possessed!"
-- Cobra Commander

"You'll be sent to different worlds to battle android warriors, and your object is to avoid being KISSed."
--Dr. Carday

"You have been KISSed. You are out of the game."
-- A battle android warrior

Miscellaneous Trivia[]

  • Gear costs according to Dr. Carday/Zarana:
    • A Hammer costs $532,000.34. (In 1992, the first year they were for sale, the base model's cost was $40,500.)
    • A Locust costs $619,000.09.
    • A rip in a uniform costs $15 to repair. (In 2023, the average nationwide cost to alter or repair clothing is $20-$60.)
    • A mortar shell costs $3768.95 for one. (In 2015, the oldest year with data readily available, one smart (GPS-guided) round cost $18,000, and a normal one $2,000.)
    • The total cost for the mission to stop Cobra from claiming the Demon tree grove: $8,984,899.52.
