Torture is an ugly word. I prefer to call it "collecting first-rate intelligence."

Other notes

Errors in "Interrogator"

  • The binder Interrogator gives Stall has the title "Geneva Convention," when the actual treaties are known as the "Geneva Conventions" - plural.

Items of note in "Interrogator"

  • Interrogator's face is never shown, even on the cover.
  • This is the first time Cobra Commander and Destro have ever been together. Clearly this story takes place after events currently happening in the main title.

Real-world references in "Interrogator"

  • The Geneva Convention is a series of treaties laying out the way victims of war are to be treated by their enemies.

G.I. Joe references in "Interrogator"

  • The name "Thomas C. Stall" (note the middle initial) was used for the Spy Troops character Blackout. Since he was a Joe who ended up betraying the team, this issue's "Thomas J. Stall" may well be the IDW incarnation of the same character.
  • Interrogator promises to release footage of Stall being "a real American hero."

Unused cover.

  • The original image of Antonio Fuso's "Cover B" released to promote this issue showed a character who looked like Torpedo. The art was entirely redrawn for the published cover.
  • The suits worn by the Cobra divers look like a cross between Eel uniforms and S.N.A.K.E. armor.
  • Only five characters, total, appear in this story: Deep Six and four Cobras.

Real-world references in "Deep Six"

  • No references.
