The M.A.R.S. Industries Base was the main base of Cobra during the live action movie. This base was so massive the base is still seen under construction during the movie and appears the size of a small city.
James McCullen, CEO of M.A.R.S. Industries, used M.A.R.S. Industries' advancement in technology to build it. Since the company is a weapons company the base is highly armed and secured. This base had main control rooms, labs, hologram projectors, and missile launching tubes for the nanomite missiles.
The base came under attack by G.I. Joe in response to McCullen's master plan for world domination. As the battle went poorly for their forces, an injured McCullen retreated in a submarine with The Doctor, who ordered that the ice pack be detonated in an attempt to kill the Joes that were still inside.
Due to the metallic structure pervading the ice, as the charges went off, large chunks of the ice itself sank into the water and created an additional hazard for those trying to escape. However, all of the Joes escaped from the base before it all came down.
The base is built under the Polar Ice Caps, so associates are advised to wear coats when above the base, or in the hangar.
There are two known entrances. One above ground that is guarded by Neo-Vipers, which is near a runway for Cobra vehicles This also serves as a hangar, and the other entrance was a docking bay for underwater craft.
This base had many security systems, and the deadly Neo-Vipers maintained security and guarded key areas. The base was also armed with a hi-tech harpoon guns and turbo pulse canons, along with missile tubes which James McCullen planned to launch the missiles containing nanomites out of.
In a final contingency plan, the base and the surrounding ice pack were lined with explosive charges that could be used to cause it to self-destruct rather than fall into enemy hands.
