G.I. Joe: Resolute is a franchise based on the A Real American Hero theme that debuted in the first quarter of 2009. It is a multimedia property filling in right between the 25th Anniversary toyline and the film franchise.

Resolute was announced at the Hasbro panel during the 2008 G.I. Joe convention. At that time, the known components of this G.I. Joe franchise were that it is a component of the Joe vs. Cobra mythology and was supported by an animated movie and a small toyline.[1]

Resolute Cartoon[]

The Resolute cartoon was announced as a series of 10 five-minute webisodes to be capped off by a 10-minute finale. The webisodes were originally going to be streamed from Hasbro's G.I. Joe website. Together, the webisodes comprise a one-hour movie that was aired on the "Adult Swim" programming block of Cartoon Network, and has been released on DVD.

Toys[]

A total of 11 G3 action figures have appeared sporting Resolute designs: Duke, Cobra Commander and the Cobra Trooper were released as single-carded action figures. All three were also repainted and included with the Cobra Officer and B.A.T. in a box set. Finally, two Comic Packs were released, featuring Destro/Shockblast and Storm Shadow/Tunnel Rat.
