Talk:G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

From Joepedia - The G.I. Joe Wiki

It looks to me like this is not actually a G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero movie, but is, in fact, a G.I. Joe: Signma Six movie, with the Sigma suits and the emphasis on the same characters (Ripcord, Heavy Duty, etc) as the later cartoon. Does this need a refrence or can it just be said?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.95.11.7 (talkcontribs).

Did anyone ever say it was supposed to a Real American Hero movie? It's just G.I. Joe. It's got the characters and goofy technology of the ARAH cartoon, the powered armor from Sigma 6, and Storm Shadow's civilian costume comes straight from Reloaded. They're drawing from every side of G.I. Joe to make something new, not a live-action version of G1. --buttbutt 15:37, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Dialogue changed?

I'm watching a DL'd version of the film that seems like a straight up Telesync and I'm looking for some dialogue that I recall from the theater. Wasn't there a moment in the undersea dog-fighting when one of the characters says "We've got to go drone!"? I can't find it but I'm pretty sure it was in the theater version. Any chance they've released multiple edits? I saw it on opening night, so it's been a month or so.

Nevermind. I found it -- it's when Ripcord is chasing the missile headed to Washington. He says "The missile's gone drone, it's going in for the kill." Idiotic. It's also different from the original screenplay, which wasn't quite that stupid.
